My weekly update on war & competition. This week, Ukraine's widening middle-strike campaign, the Xi-Putin summit in Beijing, peace in Iran and my Big 5 war and NATSEC reading recommendations.
"Russian forces registered a net loss of 69 square miles of Ukrainian territory over the four weeks from 21 April to 19 May. In the single week from 12 to 19 May, Russia lost a net 29 square miles"
This seems all the more shocking given it seems like yesterday that the fabled "Russian summer offensive" was said to be getting started.
Yet here we are, a few months later, the fronts mostly static and two Combined Arms Armies sacrificed on the altar of Pokrovsk....
Great Weekly Update as usual. I always read the big five update, but I rarely have time to read all the articles. I would like to share how I consume this information every week. I place all of the articles and email update into a Google LMNotebook. In the Notebook, I create a 50-minute podcast that reviews and discusses the articles, and I create a 15-page PowerPoint on the articles and trends. I listen to the podcast when I walk my dog in the morning. This is the way I keep up with material when pressed for time. Here is a link to the latest notebook. https://notebooklm.google.com/notebook/148362e9-e587-4fde-96d2-4af03969e530

What will be the results of the Russian Oreshnik missile attack on Kyiv?
1,551 and counting. When this conflict ends, Putin will be able to build a new monument that will be taller than the Victory Monument.
