One of my favourite things to do in the cities I visit is to get up early and go for a walk. Not only does this tick the box for some daily exercise, but it allows me to get to know the area I am visiting. First thing in the morning is my favourite time of the day, and I often take photos during my walks so my family can follow my travels.
My recent visit to Kyiv was no different.
Each morning - and often at night as well - I would walk the streets, and get to know the wonderful architecture of this beautiful city. On a couple of occasions, I tweeted some photos from my morning walks. These proved to be quite popular. And because many of my Substack subscribers are not on twitter/x, or don’t check it regularly, I thought I would add a photo supplement to my recent Ukraine Visit Diary articles.
This is the first time I have done such a post on Futura Doctrina. I don’t intend it to be a regular feature. But given the interest in the photos I posted on social media last week, I thought I would share these with you.
All the photos in this post were taken by me on a normal iPhone during my visit to Ukraine last week. Feel free to judge my photography skills, but I see myself as a rank amateur.
Enjoy!
Beautiful photos - from a subscriber who lives here. Next time you come please visit one of our several English speaking Toastmasters clubs. Bright young Ukrainians who would be fascinated to hear your observations and share their own.
Thank you for these gorgeous pictures. This too, Ukranians are fighting for. It’s a good reminder.
