The Taiwanese are often said to prefer spending on big ticket items which will be quickly destroyed. IS this true? Or is it changing? Is it even good advice?
Thank you. Interesting discussion. I was an Intel officer in HQ 5th AF in Japan in the 70’s and HQPACAF in the 80’s and visited Taiwan and worked closely with the JASDF and ROKAF. The changes in the military and political atmosphere since then has been astounding. The Ukraine invasion seems to have further energized both South Korea and Japan towards their relationship with China. I look forward to your further analysis on this key issue.

It is changing. Both their President and the US is assisting in the transition to a different balance of conventional and asymmetric capabilities.

How do you see Taiwan in terms of cyber capabilities?
