Mick, this should be a must read for anybody working inside or even with an interest in national security, military, or international relations. And even beyond that, it should be a must read for anybody interested in shaping politics and policy across an broad spectrum of areas.

But most immediately, it shows why a highly educated population with dynamic leadership defining purpose and trust in decentralized decision making throughout the chain of command will always be superior and victorious over an enemy without these characteristics, all else equal. If Ukraine were not restricted by its allies in the use of weapons systems this war would be over by now given those advantages.

I think part of the fear is Russia collapsing too quickly sadly. If you look at the war as a method to permanently destroy as much manpower and military equipment of Russia then that is going exactly to plan. I think the hope is they overthrow Putin internally so it will be less likely they lash out to the west over losing.
